Quebec Forest, Wildlife and Parks Minister Visits Kuujjuaq for the 15th Anniversary of Nunavik Parks

Jennifer Munick, Chairperson of the KRG, met on February 12 and 13 with the Minister of Forest, Wildlife and Parks, Pierre Dufour, who was visiting Kuujjuaq to participate to the celebrations of the 15th anniversary of Nunavik Parks, created by the KRG in 2004 to operate and protect parks in the region.

Various public presentations were held during the two days, including speeches from the Quebec Minister and the KRG Chairperson. All Nunavik Parks staff is currently reunited this week for conferences, training and workshops.

Throughout the years, Nunavik Parks has grown to four national parks. Thirty people from Nunavik communities are now working for the Parks, and up to 80 during high seasons.
