Nunivaat Update, First Quarter of 2018
Based on a long history of cooperation between the Kativik Regional Government (KRG) and Université Laval, Nunivaat was established in 2005 as a permanent, public and independent statistics program on the socioeconomic situation of Nunavik. Nunivaat is directed by Université Laval and funded by the KRG.
Team Nunavik–Québec Breaks Two World Records at the 2018 Arctic Winter Games
Kuujjuaq, Québec, March 29, 2018 – The South Slave communities of Hay River and Fort Smith, Northwest Territories, jointly hosted the Arctic Winter Games from March 18 to 24. A total of 52 athletes and three cultural performers represented Nunavik at the Games. They were supported by 10 coaches, eight mission staff and one chaperone.

Kuujjuaq, Québec, March 16, 2018 – With the team stronger than ever, Team Nunavik-Québec (TNQ) athletes will compete in five disciplines: Arctic Sports, Badminton, Dene Games, Snowshoeing and Table Tennis.
Fifty-two athletes and three cultural performers make up TNQ at the South Slave Arctic Winter Games in Hay River and Fort Smith, Northwest Territories from March 18-24. The team will be supported by 10 coaches, eight mission staff and one chaperone.
The 2018 Arctic Winter Games: Team Nunavik-Québec in the South Slave, NWT!
From March 18-24, Team Nunavik-Quebec will be at the Arctic Winter Games in the South Slave region of the Northwest Territories. To show support for the team, a pep rally was organized in Kuujjuaq. The team is competing in five sports: Arctic Sports, Dene Games, Badminton, Table Tennis and Snowshoe and also has a cultural contingent. Numerous trials were held over the past two years to select the team's 52 athletes.
