Transportation Subsidy Program
The Transportation Subsidy Program helps pay for the very high costs of transportation to Nunavik. Two components of the Program cover vehicles and equipment intended for hunting, fishing, trapping and gathering activities, including snowmobiles, outboard motors, and all-terrain vehicles. For the shipping of eligible items, applicants receive $500, plus an additional $250 for JBNQA beneficiaries. Vehicle and equipment purchased from a dealership
The third component of the Transportation Subsidy Program covers furniture and household appliances. Eligible items include refrigerators, kitchen stoves, beds, as well as kitchen tables and chairs. For the shipping of eligible items, applicants receive $250 up to a maximum of $750 annually.
