Support for Inuit Harvesting Activities
This program subsidizes the cost of essential hunting, fishing and trapping items in Nunavik, as well as the purchase and transportation of traditional food. Support for Inuit Harvesting Activities is the only exclusively ethnic cost-of-living measure. The assistance is paid to each Northern village according to the size of its Inuit population, and each Northern village manages the assistance through its hunter support program.
