Inuit Community Reintegration Officers Program

The mission of the Program is to foster the social reintegration of offenders into their communities and families. Inuit community reintegration officers based in Kuujjuaq, Inukjuak, Puvirnituq and Salluit monitor their clients for the duration of their conditions of release. They refer their clients to diverse support services, community resources and informal care givers with a view to helping them resolve their conflicts and return to normal lives in their communities. Inuit community reintegration officers attend each sitting of Nunavik’s itinerant court. Funding for the Program is covered under the Agreement concerning Block Funding for the Kativik Regional Government (Sivunirmut Agreement).
