Isurruutiit Program

The Isurruutiit Program for municipal infrastructure improvements is funded by the ministère des Affaires municipales, des Régions et de l’Occupation du territoire (municipal affairs, regions and land occupancy). The Department manages the Program, which involves the implementation of various infrastructure projects and the acquisition of equipment for the Northern villages to improve municipal drinking-water, wastewater and waste-management services, as well as local roads. The Isurruutiit Program comprises two phases with a total envelope of $110 million. The first phase was completed in 2008. The second phase, which began in 2006, has a resource envelope of $63.4 million and should be completed in 2010.
