Crime Victims Assistance Centre (Sapumijiit)

A joint initiative of the KRG and the ministère de la Justice du Québec (justice, MJQ), the Crime Victims Assistance Centre (Sapumijiit) has the mandate to help the victims of crime by accompanying them through the judicial process. Sapumijiit staff explain rights and legal remedies, and provide referrals to specialized resources. With offices in Kuujjuaq, Kuujjuarapik and Inukjuak, Sapumijiit staff attend each sitting of Nunavik’s itinerant court. Funding for Sapumijiit is covered under an agreement with the MJQ.
